VMware vCenter: update da SSH

Problema:
Durante l’aggiornamento di vCenter da pagina web compaiono errori o non viene effettuato l’aggiornamento.

Soluzione:
Scaricare la ISO contenente la patch di vCenter dal sito Download here
Uploadarla sul datastore [BUST301 – LUN0 (ISO DVD)] ISO-DVD/VMware/vCenter/Patch
Creare una snapshot della VM vCenter dall’host esxi che la ospita
Collegarsi in SSH all’host vCenter

cat /etc/applmgmt/appliance/software_update_state.conf

Se contiene uno stato anomalo, eliminare il file
Dopodichè dalla CLI di vCenter (non in modalità shell)

software-packages stage --iso
Accettare i termini e le condizioni
software-packages list --staged
software-packages install --staged

Se necessario riavviare vCenter
Al termine smontare la ISO e pulire la snapshot
